Job description

TYTAN Technologies

The PACE is fast. The expectations are high. The contribution matters. Working at TYTAN is more than a job, this is a mission. We thrive, think big, and hold ourselves to the highest standard. Our mission and values guide everything we do, and we're looking for people who thrive on ownership, embrace challenges, and are energized by meaningful work. If you're motivated by impact and thrive in dynamic environments, you'll fit right in.

At TYTAN, we aim to set a global standard in autonomous air defense with AI-driven, cost-efficient systems that counter unmanned aerial threats at scale. We protect people. We protect critical infrastructure. We protect Europe’s sovereignty.

We are looking for a highly qualified engineer who will be responsible for payload system safety and for the payload integration and verification timeline across our interceptor platforms.

Your Roadmap to Make an Impact

  • Plan and drive the payload integration and verification timeline, from requirement definition to demonstration in a real environment.

  • Run the hazard analysis for the payload, supported by FMEA and FTA.

  • Turn the analysis into safety requirements and get them into the design, considering arm and initiation state model, interlocks, fault detection and redundancy.

  • Be the technical counterpart for ESAD and ammunition suppliers: interface definition, qualification data packages and acceptance tests.

  • Cover the safety relevant interfaces to the vehicle: power and signal isolation, EMC/EMI, shock, vibration and thermal interfaces.

  • Write the safety case and the documentation packages for internal reviews, customers and authorities, and drive the national and NATO qualification route.

  • Define handling, storage, transport and range procedures for ammunition, lead test readiness and hazard reviews.

  • Plan and run payload test campaigns in the lab and on the range, including anomaly handling, root cause and corrective actions.

Job requirements

  • Degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, systems or safety engineering, or comparable studies.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in system safety or munitions safety, including at least one system taken from design to qualification.

  • Hands-on experience with ESADs and/or explosives (design, integration, qualification, test or handling) is a must.

  • Working knowledge of the relevant standards and the judgement to apply them: MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-1316, STANAG 4187, STANAG 4497, AOP-15, AECTP test procedures.

  • You have written hazard analyses and hazard logs yourself.

  • Solid systems engineering practice: requirements decomposition, ICDs, V&V planning, traceability, configuration management, clear technical documentation.

  • Knowledge of German explosives law in practice (SprengG, §20 Befähigungsschein, storage and transport classification) is a strong plus.

  • Experience working with BAAINBw, WTD or comparable authorities in another NATO nation is a strong plus.

  • Comfortable in the lab, on test rigs and on the range.

  • Fluent in English, German is beneficial. EU work authorisation required, no visa sponsorship for this role
