As our Specialist in Material Planning, you'll be the operational backbone of our material flow, ensuring seamless coordination between production demand and supplier delivery. You'll anticipate material needs, work cross functionally and drive timely action across Procurement, Production Planning, Logistics, and Engineering keeping our operations running smoothly and on-time as we scale.

Your Roadmap to Impact:

Core planning & coordination

  • Review production schedules (weekly horizon minimum, extending 4–8 weeks based on lead times) and determine material requirements using our ERP system

  • Generate and maintain replenishment schedules, ensuring adequate stock coverage across all active BOMs

  • Track open purchase orders and supplier delivery confirmations, flagging delays and risks proactively

  • You identify material shortages, supply bottlenecks, and procurement gaps before they impact production

Drive supplier & procurement collaboration

  • Work directly with Supply Chain Specialists to communicate urgent material needs and negotiate accelerated delivery timelines when necessary

  • Support monitoring of supplier performance, lead time compliance, quality, delivery reliability

  • Coordinate with suppliers on order status, lead time changes, and supply chain disruptions

  • Maintain accurate material master data, lead times, and supplier information in ERP

Reporting & visibility

  • Prepare weekly/monthly bottleneck and material availability reports for production and leadership

  • Track critical/long-lead components and provide early-warning alerts via traffic light reporting (green/yellow/red)

  • Document material shortages, engineering changes, and their downstream impact on procurement timelines

  • You support demand planning refinement and forecast accuracy improvements

Support process & systems

  • Place orders on framework contracts

  • You help maintain BOM data quality and accuracy

  • Contribute to supply chain process improvements and system enhancements

  • Support inventory optimization initiatives and obsolescence management

Navigate export control & compliance

  • You understand and follow export control requirements (EAR/ECCN, customs, BAFA) applicable to our supply chain

  • You flag material procurement requests with potential export control implications for review by our compliance team

Job requirements

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

  • 1–2 years of experience in material planning, production planning, procurement, or a related role in supply chain. (strong analytical entry-level candidates welcome)

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills

  • Good organizational and time management abilities; comfortable managing multiple priorities under pressure

  • A proactive, self-driven mentality, not just flagging problems but helping solve them

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management across cross-functional teams

  • Analytical mindset with sharp attention to detail

  • Fluent in German and English, written & spoken is required

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with Odoo, SAP, or similar ERP systems

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, BOMs, or lead time management

  • Basic understanding of export control regulations (EAR, ECCN)

  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies

  • APICS CSCP or CPIM certification (or willingness to pursue)
