Job description

TYTAN Technologies

At TYTAN, we aim to set a global standard in autonomous air defense with AI-driven, cost-efficient systems that counter unmanned aerial threats at scale. We protect people. We protect critical infrastructure. We protect European sovereignty.
We are looking for a Junior Avionics Engineer to grow alongside our engineering team as we build and deploy advanced UAV platforms. This is a hands-on role where you will learn to integrate electronics systems across fixed-wing and multicopter interceptors. If you are passionate about UAVs, eager to get your hands dirty with real hardware, and ready to contribute from day one, we want to hear from you.

Your Roadmap to Make an Impact

  • Support the integration of flight controllers, companion computers, sensors, radios, and payload systems into UAV platforms

  • Assist in implementing and validating onboard communication architectures (MAVLink, CAN, UART, Ethernet)

  • Contribute to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing setups, bench testing, and lab bring-up activities

  • Help debug hardware-software integration issues across avionics subsystems

  • Write and maintain Python and C++ scripts for system configuration, logging, and test automation

  • Support flight testing activities including system monitoring, data logging, and post-flight analysis

  • Assist in documenting system architectures, interfaces, and integration workflows

  • Collaborate closely with the Systems, GNC and C2 teams on cross-functional tasks

  • Contribute to system health monitoring, fail-safe definitions, and fault detection

Job requirements

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field

  • Hands-on experience with embedded Linux systems and basic system bring-up — through coursework, a thesis, internship, or personal projects

  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, UART, Ethernet, or similar

  • Basic proficiency in Python and/or C++; you write clean, readable code and want to improve

  • Hands-on experience with autopilot software (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot) or robotics middleware (e.g., ROS2)

  • Curiosity about how hardware and software interact in safety-critical real-time systems

  • Ability to work on-site in Munich — available to start immediately or within a short notice period

  • Legally authorized to work in Germany (no visa sponsorship available)

Nice to Have

  • Experience building or flying UAVs — even as a hobby

  • Exposure to MAVLink, DDS, or similar UAV messaging protocols

  • Familiarity with hardware design tools (schematics, PCB review) or JTAG/SWD debugging

  • Experience with simulation environments or HIL/SIL test frameworks

  • Background in defense, safety-critical, or certified avionics environments

  • Working knowledge of German (not required — our working language is English)

Why TYTAN?

  • Join a deep-tech defense company shaping the future of autonomous air security in Europe

  • Work hands-on with real UAV hardware from your first weeks — not just simulations

  • Grow fast in a small, engineering-heavy team where your contributions are visible and impactful

  • Participate in our success with stock options

  • Flexible working hours and a modern office in Munich

  • Access to EGYM Wellpass sports facilities

  • All-day coffee and snacks, team events, and a collaborative international culture

Equal Opportunity & Security

Due to security clearance requirements, affiliations with countries listed under § 13 para. 1 no. 17 SÜG may affect the application process. Please note that we currently do not offer visa sponsorship — we are only able to consider candidates who already hold a valid work permit for Germany.
Ready to make an impact? We look forward to your application.
