Job description

TYTAN Technologies

At TYTAN, we aim to set a global standard in autonomous air defense with AI-driven, cost-efficient systems that counter unmanned aerial threats at scale. We protect people. We protect critical infrastructure. We protect European sovereignty.

We are looking for a Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer to help design, implement, and validate GNC systems for small multicopter and eVTOL drones. The ideal candidate bridges control theory with hands-on software engineering and thrives in a fast-moving, multidisciplinary environment. You will work close to the aircraft, contributing to GNC systems from simulation through to flight.

Your roadmap to make an impact

  • Contribute to the GNC lifecycle for small multicopter and eVTOL platforms (<10 kg), from concept through to operational flight, including hybrid/transition flight where applicable

  • Help develop and validate flight dynamics models and control laws, and support their integration into the embedded flight software stack

  • Contribute to autonomous behavior by implementing and refining flight modes, transitions, and failure handling

  • Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and hands-on flight test campaigns, including data acquisition, analysis, and iterative tuning

  • Collaborate closely with systems, airframe, avionics, and software teams to ensure GNC interfaces are well-defined and integration-ready

  • Help maintain clear documentation of assumptions, architectures, and validation results

Job requirements

  • A degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, robotics, or control engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience

  • First hands-on experience with GNC for multicopter and/or eVTOL UAVs, e.g. through previous work, internships, thesis work, university projects, or hobby/competition drones

  • Solid foundation in flight dynamics and guidance, navigation, and flight control theory

  • Proficiency in structured, maintainable code in C/C++ and/or Python; awareness of embedded or real-time constraints

  • Familiarity with ROS2, PX4, or other Linux-based flight software environments and toolchains (incl. custom RTOS stacks)

  • Eagerness to work close to real aircraft and to learn through flight testing; any prior flight-test or field exposure is a plus

  • Previous exposure to simulation frameworks for UAVs, including multi-airframe

  • A pragmatic, curious, and hands-on mindset

Why TYTAN?

  • Virtual stock options: Participate in our success through Virtual stock options (VSOPs) at the company's current valuation

  • Monthly allowances: €106/month in flexible benefits including lunch discounts and EGYM Wellpass or shopping credit

  • Regular health care events: Health check-ups, skin screenings, mental health workshops, and an annual vitamin infusion on us

  • Referral bonus: Earn a reward when someone you refer joins the team

  • Regular team events: On- and off-site activities to connect and celebrate together

  • Corporate discounts: Exclusive employee discounts across a wide range of partner brands

  • Flexibility: Flexible working hours and hybrid work model, plus a modern Munich office built for focus and collaboration

  • Dynamic and fast-paced team: Be among the first to shape a deep-tech defence company redefining the future of security with an international team where your impact is immediate
