Job description

TYTAN Technologies

At TYTAN, we aim to set a global standard in autonomous air defense with AI-driven, cost-efficient systems that counter unmanned aerial threats at scale. We protect people. We protect critical infrastructure. We protect Europe’s sovereignty.

We are looking for an Aerodynamics Engineer to join our Aircraft Design department. In this role, you will be responsible for aerodynamic calculations across various aircraft concepts, generating aerodynamic polars to support design and performance evaluation, and assisting the design team with low- and mid-fidelity aerodynamic tools throughout the conceptual and preliminary design phases.

Your Roadmap to Make an Impact

  • Perform aerodynamic calculations and analyses for various aircraft concepts using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

  • Generate aerodynamic polars (lift, drag, and moment coefficients) to support design trade studies, sizing, and performance predictions

  • Support the Aircraft Design team with low- and mid-fidelity aerodynamic methods and tools during conceptual and preliminary design

  • Set up, run, and post-process CFD simulations, including mesh generation and validation of results

  • Collaborate with structures, propulsion, and systems engineers to integrate aerodynamic data into the overall aircraft design

  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and results in clear technical reports

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal aerodynamic tools, workflows, and best practices

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • Hands-on experience with CFD software; OpenFOAM experience preferred

  • Solid understanding of fundamental aerodynamic theory (subsonic/transonic flow, boundary layers, lift/drag mechanisms)

  • Familiarity with mesh generation and CFD pre-/post-processing tools

  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail

  • Strong background in programming/scripting skills (Python, C++, or Bash) for automating CFD and data-processing workflows

    Nice to Have

  • Experience with low- and mid-fidelity aerodynamic tools (e.g., vortex lattice or panel methods, XFOIL, AVL, or similar)

  • Prior exposure to aircraft conceptual or preliminary design

  • Project experience in aerodynamics (e.g., university aircraft design projects, Formula Student, or similar competitions)

  • Experience with other CFD solvers (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, SU2)

Why TYTAN?
